Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Abby Howard and I am a 22-year-old Canadian content creator. I am currently finishing up my second degree at Queen’s University and am living in Kingston/Waterloo at the moment.

What inspired you to start your channel?

I would say the first thing that inspired me to start my YouTube channel was my passion for making videos. I have always had that passion since I was a little kid. I have been watching YouTube videos for over a decade and loved the process/idea of what being a YouTuber was all about.

How do you engage with your fan community?

I engage with my fan community by using Instagram, the YouTube Community tab, TikTok, Snapchat, Patreon, Twitter, and Backr.

Do you use any tools to manage fan engagements?

I have used Backr before and love how it connects with my YouTube comments so easily. Backr has really made me understand the importance of engagement and how it correlates to channel growth.

How did you grow your channel?

My channel growth has been slow and steady. I have been on YouTube for a little over two years and I would honestly say the key behind channel growth is consistency and providing quality authentic content that you’re proud of.

What advice would you give other creators/aspiring creators?

The best advice I could give creators/aspiring creators would be to just start. I know it sounds simple, but the hardest part is getting started and posting your first video. The reality is your first videos are not going to be great, but the important thing is that you can look back and them and see how much you’ve improved as a creator and with your camera presence. Try not to focus as much on the numbers and focus more on the quality/consistency of your work.

Who are your fave creators?

Some of my fav creators include Casey Neistat, Benito Skinner, Emma Chamberlain, David Dobrik, and MARKO.

How can people connect with you?

People can connect with me through Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Patreon, Snapchat, Tumblr, and pretty much every social media app you can think of haha.
